"Ask about the Prince of Peace and His teaching of peace."

“Ask about the Prince of Peace and His teaching of peace.”
In Psalms 122:6 we read “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.” Let’s break this sentence down…
• Pray in Hebrew means “to ask” as in a question.
• The word peace in Hebrew is shalom. Jesus is sar shalom (prince of peace), therefore, shalom is another name for Jesus.
• Jerusalem is two words put together Jeru, which means teaching (it has the same root as torah which means instruction) and the other word is salem which is a synonym for the word shalom or peace. So, therefore, Jerusalem means teaching of peace.
• We can deduce then that Psalms 122:6 could be construed to read
“Ask about the Prince of Peace and His teaching of peace.”
This is just amazing! But look a little further at another passage in Matthew 5:35 where Jesus is referred to as the King of Jerusalem who will soon reign over the world from that very location! But with our new understanding of the word Jerusalem, we see that Jesus is the King of the teaching of peace even today!
Do you need peace today? Ask about the Prince of Peace and His teaching of peace. He will bring you the peace you so long for. He will not bring you the peace that the world gives, He will give you the peace that passes all understanding. He will give you peace in the midst of the storm. He will give you the peace of God as well as peace with God. Come to Him today. His yoke is easy and His burden is light.
